Otis was a fan favorite because of his effort and passing ability, but he just didnt have the size or the shooting touch to play the position he would be best be suited for.
This is a good move for him, he needs to drop down a division and I bet he can put up some really good numbers and have a fun college experience. I will miss him but I think the team will be better in the long run. His FT shooting was such a liability and his penchant for fouling always limited what little playing time he got. Best of luck to him!
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!

Not surprising. Doherty basically gave up on Otis this year. Some games not getting off the bench. Another recruiting miss, but more painfully he is another guy that Doh invested playing time in early as a young player, took the lumps, then gave up on him anyway. Like Harp, i dont think Otis was ready to play to begin with. Playing freshmen and sophs never does you any good if they are gone by the time they are upperclassmen. Reminds me of the end of the shumate era when guys like Chris Boyd showed a little promise, stagnated, then left.

you have to figure a transfer or JC guy is coming in for Mook. I do not imagine that there are many JC or freshman that are worth a scholarship left out there so my bet is a transfer. Hopefully an impact player.

I think we already gave his scholarship away-someone had to go

another poor to mediocre season of uninspired basketball: a team without a true scorer, a ridiculous substitution pattern from our coach, a non-conference schedule of creampuffs - half of which we lose to, a home building where we draw 1500 fans - most wondering why they are there. but hey, we will always hang on to the fact that we have next year, cause we will be great then.

announcing who replaces Mook & Lutz, I'd imagine.
Any idea when they'll be announcing who is taking Mook's 'ship? If it's already accounted for then what is the hold up on announcing it?

I think its more like transferring in and dealing w/transfer credit stuff & admissions
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones
