We need a few impact verbals soon. Getting nervous, and there is supposedly no visitors for a home game vs. a Pac 10 team this weekend.

so we've made Doh a CEO coach? Let's see if the foot stomping ceases, or the staredowns of our own players

I doubt we'll see Doh tone down, or have less to say, but I do expect the systems to be more efficient, which won't be his doing.

Grab them and make sure they are at TCU game...

let's be real, if it were perfect weather & at night, we'd still have no one there. Unless, of course, we're playing TCU and they bring a nice percentage of the crowd. I'm just not sure there is a good time to recruit hoops players. Can't bring them in for a hoops game, that's for sure. Sadly, I once heard we preferred low key weekends, and fall breaks etc, if only b/c we can make excuses for the dead campus life. That way, kids can only gauge by facilities, physical campus etc.

That makes a lot of sense, unfortunately.

My guess would be that someone saw you were encouraging fans (unintentionally, I'm assuming) to commit what would be a recruiting violation.

that's cute, but if they were going to be that letter of the law anal, they probably shouldn't actually set up a tailgate. That's almost the entire point. Our compliance is the worst in sports. Hoops haters...

They isolated their tailgate way back off the Blvd. hidden between the Natatorium and a dorm building. They tried to isolate the recruits and still give them a flavor and view of the Blvd. and what was happening. I think their tailgate was very appropriate and sent a message that they wanted to stay away from fans and visa versa. They might have removed the basketball banner if they really wanted more isolation.

the reality is that every legit hoops school in america uses these opportunities to show recruits love. Some schools bring posters, chant their names etc. Maybe handshakes & pats on the back go over the secondary violation line, but you just can't bring a 4 star type on SMUs campus, come gameday, and have him go home never hearing his name. That's just asking to suck
