Gottfried and Yow are bible-thumpers. Maryland insiders always said she'd make him a candidate if Gary stepped down, which made us all laugh. Now I realize it wasn't a joke, or it is, just that it's on State. In reality, he's better than some of the candidates, and saved her butt. Funny that 2 hires, and 6 years later, they can't even really find a lateral hire to Herb Sendek.

This. Is. Awesome.

North Carolina State athletic director Debbie Yow, who feuded with men's basketball coach Gary Williams while holding the same position at Maryland, has accused Williams of sabotaging the Wolfpack's recent search for a new men's basketball coach.

"I don’t have a reputation across all men’s basketball as being difficult to work with," Yow said during today's press conference introducing coach Mark Gottfried. "I have a reputation of not getting along with Gary Williams, who has tried to sabotage the search. Come on. We all know that. OK, so whatever. It's not a reputation. It's Gary Williams out there doing his thing. Whatever.”

That's great, Debbie. Thanks.

BTW, do you have the documentation to support your accusations regarding Gary Williams and how he disrupted this search?

She insults the process. It doesn't matter the industry...when anyone is changing jobs and is going to look into something, he or she does the homework by checking with people who they know work there or others who had a history of working with somebody who is now in that location.

Hello!

Usually, when somebody is going to certain lengths to say they aren't something...they usually are.

Hysterical. Tallk about an insecurity complex.

Only Debbie Yow could turn a press conference about their new head coach, into a diatribe on Gary. He owns her thoughts. Tried to sabotage the search? She had almost 4 mill per year to work with, and she got Gottfried. LOL. He destroyed that search. Wait till the Doyel piece, and then Gary's response.

Yow is an awful person, incredibly paranoid, and doesn't have any ex-coaches at her back. This isn't a Gary issue, ask any coach at maryland. Ask Tom obrien or Sid Lowe at State. Worst of all, she's awful at PR, leaks to the media, and always makes herself the focal point of everything.

Basically, she hired Gregg Doyel to hatchet Williams. Think about that. What coach in the world wants to work for any AD, that's hiring a journalist to butcher her most profile ex-coach? She's just bad people.

Fixed it for you. I guess the bolded part was inadvertently left out of the original article.
