I don't know for sure, but something tells me it wasn't hoops related. That's a educated guess, though, not from anyone of worth

awful. I think we might have enough quality newcomers to withstand this, but all it takes is a few injuries, and a non-qualifier and your momentum is lost and all the time you spent waiting for the fab 5 at the end of the bench is for naught. I do agree, better now than in September. hopefully he can recover fully.

personally, i find it lot easier to swallow when a player in any sport gets hurt playing that sport, even pickup games, especially basketball.

Exactly. It's a really big blow, and now you have to go to the Cannen Cunningham/Jalen Jones/Eric Norman well, a little early. In theory, you could keep Nyuk at 4, Vilde at 5, maybe Haynes or Williams at the 3 etc. Losh should regain form next year as well, and then there's Clink. Glad we can cover it up some, but the reality is that Leslee may have been our best player coming in. Brutal

I wonder if this will affect the OOC for 2011 of if it's already been pretty much wrapped up. Schedule a bunch of attendance losing cupcakes in order to allow the younger players to get their feet wet, gel as a unit, etc. That way by the time New Years rolls around, the kids are pretty comfortable, Smith is back, and Williams becomes eligible.
It'll drive hard core fans nuts and we'll get eviscerated by any sportswriter that actually pays attention to us, but I wonder if that isn't the appropriate strategy.

I think they were going to schedule up some, but I expected it to look more like 2 years ago, as opposed to last year. People thought that was a soft schedule, but had A&M, USF, UNLV, College of Charleston, Northeastern, TCU etc. I like that look, a few high majors, several quality mids and the low major cupcakes. Provided we have TCU & UNM on the schedule, decent start. Wonder if Ole Miss was home & home, or straight one off?

yknow, if we're playing good ball at the time, I wouldnt be opposed to making the trip to watch us play in the Diamondhead Classic over Christmas this time around.
