Have to think about comparison, but he's a very aggressive athlete. Prototype SF athletically, don't know enough about the way he handles on the wing. Big blocks/dunks etc. Can also knock down the 3 ball. Papawasamustang or someone else should chime in, but Jalen has played on the block a lot in high school, and only transitioned to wing w/Showtyme last summer. I've heard he's a very good shooter w/range, that just hasn't had a lot of those opportunities. He was very smooth from distance at elite camp etc. Obviously, he's a clutch FT shooter etc.

Jones is really a tough guy to compare to someone locally. LeBryan Nash is probably the closet player I can come up with locally. They both do so many things well. Nash is just more defined right now. Jones is more of a late bloomer.

So he's about ten pounds heavier than Q at 205. Q was a 2/3 and Jalen's a true 3, right?

Jalen is like 2-4 lol. Put it this way, I firmly believe our what our staff loves about Jalen is his versatility. Physically, he's a 3, but he's a versatile enough athlete to guard 1-4 in some instances. He has a developing perimeter skills offensively, but he's potentially a lockdown defender, if he applies himself in that role. You can put him on a smaller guy, cause he's quick/long enough to stay in front and close out. Even if a smaller kid gets by, Jalen can probably close and swat a bunch. Kid has a high ceiling that he's just now tapping into.

Indeed, but let's not harp on it. He either will or won't, that's the recruiting game. He'd from a good family and is putting in work, that's all you can ask

You need to understand that he's becoming my favorite of this class. So I don't want him to pass for his sake. I want him to pass for my sake.

Jones is special. Brings a bad [deleted] attitude along with his A game.

What is a 1,2,3,4, and 5? My basketball knowledge is perimeter player or post player? Can you explain the positions to me? Hope Jalen can " close and swat" on the college level. You have to remember the great Bill Russell; he could close and swat and better yet swat the ball to his teammate and not out of bounds where the opposing team gets the ball right back. Russell was the best - 11 titles in 13 years.

1- PG/ primary ball handler
2- Off guard
3- Small forward- used to be called a swing man
4- Power forward
5- Post/Center

Jones is more of a 3 imo. However, he is versatile enough to guard a 2, 3, or 4. You can almost throw the whole #ing system out with the system this team uses. I think everyone will appreciate the attitude Jones will bring to the team. Soft will never be mentioned when referring to Jones.
