Think that is a bit of an anomoly. We have either been lucky or well coached (probably both) but during our winning streak we have been able to get the ball in the hands of our best free throw shooters to end games when the other team has to foul. Other than that, we seldom get to shoot FTs during the middle parts of the game.

When the young guys do shoot them, with the exception of Vilde and Cotton, they are still bricking them. Rob, Samp, and Clink are great FT shooters that have been draining them.

Hopefully the young guys will feed off the veterans and be good FT shooters by conference play.
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!

Doesn't matter. I'm on these boards to support SMU...

I was just curious, and was gonna point out that you are a rare breed. Most people only remain loyal to their undergrad alma mater, and don't care at all about their grad school team. Not asked in a bad way at all.

You are either naive, uninformed or an idiot. I have been an avid supporter of both SMU basketball and football for years probably before you were even born. Many of my fellow SMU supporters and friends are not SMU undergraduates. Some did not graduate from SMU at all and some are only Law and Cox grads . We are not a rare breed. We spent time at SMU, 3 years at law school for me, and became life long SMU supporters. I assure you that the amount of time and money we have given to SMU far exceeds that of many of the undergraduates. If the undergraduates would give a semblance of support that we do, we would not have an attendance problem in either football or basketball.

Wow, pretty snippy reaction to what I would have thought was a common sentiment. Just because it does not apply to you and your friends does not mean it is not broadly true and regardless there is no reason to lead off with the insult.

I think most people (most not all so do not get snippy again) are generally stronger supporters of their undergrad teams than their grad school teams. I know that is the case with me. I pay a ton more attention to SMU (undergrad) than UT (grad).

Hey guy, I am not any of those words you used to describe me. I am simply reporting what I know to be true. I have had a permanent residence in the metroplex for 18 years. I know whose SMU's fans are. I breathe and talk everything SMU because it means a great deal to me after playing for the university. People are generally more connected to their undergrad alma mater than their grad school. It was not a dig at anyone just a generalized statement. Carry on guy.

well my reaction could have been much "snippier" and more insulting. I are tired of the general lack of support from both the students and the grads of the undergraduate schools of the athletic program. SMU is a great university and has the potential to again have an overall great athletic program. I know that many students and grads on this board do actively support SMU athletics but from the attendance at football and basketball games and from the number that travel to games you are in a minority of the overall student and graduate population. Do not want any more excuses just solutions and results.

it's not the people on this board who are the problem; wouldn't hang around here if we weren't all big supporters. There just aren't enough of us. What do we have...less than 5% of our living graduates contributing to the Mustang Club? 10-20% of our total student population attending football games and even fewer attending bball games? I assume that compares unfavorably with most other BCS schools
