Maybe so in general, but with a new TV agreement with the Big East, the basketball contract rights maybe more than the football.

The article on the Big East - SDSU contract posted on the Football board said that if at least 70% of the proceeds of the new TV agreement were not allocated to football then SDSU's exit fee was reduced from $5 million to $2.5 million. I seriously doubt the Big East would agree to that provision if they thought that the basketball was going to be worth more than the football. Not saying it can't happen, just saying it does not sound likely based on that provision.

Saw that too. But it may be worth the $2.5 million exit gamble to SDSU if the money is so good on the basketball side as it would potentially be a 10 year deal worth millions a year to the BE.

I could really care less about those East Coast elite think. Those guys should be thanking their lucky stars their conference didn't implode leaving them with diddly squat.

The Big East is not in a position where it can dictate terms. This is about survival.

It might be news to those guys but basketball doesn't rule college athletics. Football does.

I care, mostly cause I am one. That said, I've been predicting our rise as attractive programs for several years now, so I'm feeling all Nostradamus in those circles right now. Last part of the equation in my world domination is for SMU to actually not embarrass me. That could end up being the sticking point
