It's cool that you're a big SMU fan and not a grad. I wonder why you think Doherty is the guy that can take SMU to the Dance. Clearly it won't be this year and probably not next year and then the Big East is upon us. I liked the hire when it happened -- for its notoriety anyway -- but questioned how great he really is due to the sharp decline after year one at UNC.
At SMU, he's made some progress but when you go to one post-season in five years and it's the CIT (where you buy in), that's pretty bad. SMU has played overall .500 ball the last two years and finished in seventh in the conference. Currently, SMU is at #220 or so in RPI. This was supposed to be a turnaround year but maybe it just takes some time for the team to gel. Coaches usually go after the crowds give up.
and for the record, because people are still confused, YOU CANNOT BUY INTO THE CIT. you can pay for the right to host home games and the team with best record has priority. The fee you pay covers travel for away team. That's the only fee associated with that topic.
Now sorry to derail. Let's return to whatever this thread is trying to accomplish.
Thank you for that clarification. Didn't know that. So we "earned" the right to play at home based on our record.
no. We were given the option to play at home and took it. That cost us money.
