We always have needed inside presence. Big Pappa was okay but this year our post-work is pathetic.

In order for SMU to compete in the Big East, or any conference for that matter, they are going to have to find a coach that can land 1 or 2 kids that have the potential to play in the NBA. Almost every roster in the Big East has a roster with projected NBA players.
If you can't recruit that type of player, you have to develop them. Unfortunately, this HC has proven he can't do either.
What happened @ Rice is an absolute joke. Other than DWill, Doh gets a F for his lack of success recruiting solid PG's. Its the most important position in college hoops IMO.

OR, do we did some "Gene Hackman" dude to come in here and start anew? SMU hoops is a LONG way from my days as a student watching Jeff Swanson/Mark Davis/Phil Hale/Billy A., etc. with a PACKED gym and my days on the front row as a young alum cheering on Kato & Co...seems like we are stuck in some Reginald Mohomeed spin cycle...

It appears they are "lost in the structure", not unlike some of the Shumate teams. Not enough instinctive play. As for the "lost days of Moody", I wonder how much better these guys would perform if they had the kind of support we remember we used to give the guys back in our time. We were co-champs only one year during my time at SMU, but we regularly turned out 5k or more and needed the entire north side bleachers to accomodate student demand for most games. Oh well, I just keep hoping someone will "bring Moody back" during my lifetime
