Is this the state of the athletic department?

TU has been a joke for a while. Nice stepping stone over the years for coaches...but it's been a long time.

A joke?

Underperforming maybe but hardly a joke. Wojick's team were decent and had a few NITs, a CBI title and some 20 win teams. He still sucked and never adapted and never ran a zone. I cant believe we havent been to the dance in 9 freaking years and that we are 12 years removed from a 32 win elite 8 team that was a shot away from the final four.

I just want D'oh out and the Ponies respectable by the time the big east teams roll into Moody.

yes, a joke (9 years) compared to TU's success and history in the last couple of decades. not comparing SMU by any means which has been a joke since '93

I agree I hate wojick especially considering the talent he has had @ TU during his tenure. any other coach (save D'Oh) wouldve had the team in the dance every year with Jordan, Uzoh, Clarkson, Hurtt...ect.

They cited declining season ticket sales as a major factor behind the decision. Yet Doherty plays in front of 50-60 people every game (benches included) and we haven't let him go.

Has declining attendance ever been a reason when SMU made a coaching change?

Tulsa has hired a search firm to help identify a new basketball coach. Eastman and Beaudine (from Texas) has been hired - they were the firm that helped Missouri land Frank Haith. I’ve heard that Tulsa AD Ross Parmley wants someone with experience as a head coach. BUT, the rumors are slowly starting to circulate that Vanderbilt assistant David Cason will be in the mix. He was an assistant for six seasons at Tulsa before heading to Vandy last spring. He has a ton of support from the current Tulsa players.

I doubt it. Since we left the SWC, there hasn't been enough attendance to have it go down.
