I'll defer to you, since you know a lot more about college basketball than I. And, yeah, Debbie Yow is a [word I probably can't say on here] 2005 PonyFans.com Rookie of the Year Award Recipient

Re: DMN: Who will replace Doherty? Here are some possibiliti
Because Duke and UNC dominate the state in BB, fan support, and academics, is my understanding that NCSU is very much the Texas Tech of the ACC. The fans hate playing third fiddle and have an enormous chip on their shoulder. Just as Tech will always be third behind Texas and TAMU, NCSU will be third behind Duke and UNC. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: DMN: Who will replace Doherty? Here are some possibiliti
Great class, but will be mostly compiled of in-state kids that didn't get UNC or Duke offers. NC isn't talent rich like that every year, and they don't win many head to head battles w/those two. That said, if/when they add Torian graham, its a stellar class, just great.
Re: DMN: Who will replace Doherty? Here are some possibiliti
I'm no NC St fan, but have many alums as friends. That said, their class is rated #4 in the country, ahead of both UNC and the Dookies. Purvis had offers from Uconn/Ohio St/Memphis. TJ Warren did have a UNC offer, as well as Kentucky, Kansas, G'town and many more. Heck, even Tyler Lewis had an offer from Baylor among others. I'd say they are well on their way back...which is always good for the ACC. So much better when NCState is a legit battle for UNC and Duke. Makes the entire league better IMHO as a North Carolinian.
Re: DMN: Who will replace Doherty? Here are some possibilitiAs someone who can't stand Duke and UNC, I'd like to see NC State emerge

Jones is a class act and a good recruiter, but imho a "weak bench coach". NT has trouble closing out games and consistently blows late leads.
Re: DMN: Who will replace Doherty? Here are some possibiliti
Again, they have a very good class, but only one kid in the class had Dook & UNC offers. Its rare when the state has that many top 100 types. I regard this year, as a probable aberration, and Gottfried has always proven an average coach. Also, looks like Bobby Lutz may take the Winthrop job, so that hurts their bench a ton. Either way, as a Terp, I'm not particularly scared of NCSU moving forward
Re: DMN: Who will replace Doherty? Here are some possibilitiAfter tonights game, looks like Duke plays 2nd fiddle to Lehigh
2015 INDIANAPOLIS OR BUST
Re: DMN: Who will replace Doherty? Here are some possibilitiTAKE A LOOK AT FRAN FRASCHILLA! Lives here in Dallas and would be instant cred with HS Ballers.

Quite the contrary--Duke is to the state of North Carolina what TCU is to Texas--lots of pub when they win, but a much smaller fan base. NCSU has a huge fan following. Duke does not draw outside the Triangle area and State gets fans all over. East Carolina is the TTech of that state.
Re: DMN: Who will replace Doherty? Here are some possibilitiSH - why all the love for a coach that no other program has gone after in 5 yrs? - are you related?
so that would be like 30 plus programs a year for 5 yrs plus - over 150 something programs have passed - but we should hire him - why exactly ?
