Reay of hope?

(Sorry, that slipped.)

Regardless of all the speculation about doghouses or other reasons for limited (or an absence of) playing time, I can't help but like Reay. Last year, in the final game before the coaching change, he was the only one I saw busting his tail in the Boise Blowout. Every time I've seen him on the floor, he seems to be going 100 MPH, like he feels every loose ball and rebound belongs to him, so if he has to go through a brick wall -- or an opposing player or two -- to get it, so be it. He'll go for it every time. I see some of that in Paulius Ritter, too. Sure, you have to have the Hopkins/Roberts/Simpson/Castro types to score points and win games, but to win, you also have to have very strong, completely fearless guys like Reay and Ritter.

I also liked the note about Chris in the paper, where it talked about him passing out flyers to get people to the games .... and then backing it up with his best game of the season. That's very impressive. (Hey Chris, throw around some more flyers before the next home game, then come out and break the single-game rebound record!)
