I think we might have a couple of players that are playing for scholarships this year thereby making the competition good.

SMU has always attracted Illinois students and back in my day,we seemed to have a pipeline to Illinois hoopsters (Rick Billick, Rueben Triplett immediately come to mind but there were more)

If we can just do well in Dallas and Chicago, SMU will compete in the Big East

"Kentucky's national championship run last year in college basketball proved that the game is moving away from senior leadership and experience and instead putting a greater emphasis on the impact of recruits.

Freshmen are no longer scrubs and can now be considered legitimate leaders of their respective teams."

The game doesn't *have* to move away from senior leadership. It's just that the top programs are sending their best players to the NBA early. Imagine what the quality of basketball would be if these top kids stuck around all four years...

Ballers are ballers. It is not like football where you always have to develop a bunch of players (however some do need developing). Quality would be about the same because Kentucky is just reloading. If those players did not go pro then the new superstars going to Kentucky would have to go somewhere else because the scholarships would not be open. SMU needs as many young or old ballers as possible. I for one am not against playing the best players regardless of age. As Larry brown said in an interview with Dale Hansen that if we are in the running for a one and done player SMU would be in pretty good shape.
