New Big East

Are the 9 catholic schools that left the Big East going to play in the BE next season or are they out for next season?

Wanted to get a feel for our schedule next year.

For now, we are expected to be in the same league as the Catholic 7 for 2 seasons. At least it is better than nothing.

Wonder if Aresco can make a deal that keeps the 7?

I posted in the football forum that our best bet would be for NBC to offer the Big East a sizable contract such that if it keeps the Catholic 7 we get more than we would without them and they (Catholic 7) get much more than they would without us. Probably too little too late, but you never know and I am an eternal optimist. I still think Aresco jumped the gun by adding Tulane and East Carolina. I would gladly have kept the Big East at 9 football schools. and 7 basketball only members for a total of 15 all sports members.

So true. Adding ecu and Tulane had to be the dumbest decision (to whomever made that call)

It would be nice to not have to play in a "transitional" conference next year, but unless the football schools and the Catholic 7 negotiate early exits, looks like a pretty good chance that could still happen
