Re: Long, good Grantland article on LBGood read. My biggest fear is that he just bails on us w/ hardly any notice per his MO. Probably tough to be away from family and I wonder how often he even sees them.
Re: Long, good Grantland article on LBFrom D Magazine, Frontburner:
SMU Coach Larry Brown Really, Really, Really Loves Basketball. I Mean, Really. Posted on February 7th, 2013 1:21pm by Jason Heid Filed under Education, Sports That’s the takeaway from Grantland’s piece today wondering why the Hall of Fame coach campaigned vigorously to land a job leading such an undistinguished college basketball program as SMU’s. Re: Long, good Grantland article on LBWe are so fortunate to have Larry Brown
Our players are so fortunate to have him as a coach and role model. Wow ! What a great article. Pony 81
Re: Long, good Grantland article on LBYou have to love LB's approach to basketball and its relationship to life lessons. I could make a similar attribute for swimming, but his passion and results at the highest level are unique and admirable. A great read.
We are fortunate to have him, as well as Tim Jankovich, our Associate HC, who is a legitimate HC in his own right and and shoulder-to-shoulder with LB is a real luxury and long term insurance policy. SMU steped up big time for Brown and this coaching staff. Impressive commitment. Pony Up
Re: Long, good Grantland article on LBI think it's telling that both June Jones and Larry Brown came to SMU and asked for these jobs. If there is but an once of truth to this aspect of the article, this bodes EXTREMELY well for our future athletic program.
Re: Long, good Grantland article on LBBy Neal Gabler? The same guy who replaced Siskel and Ebert on Sneak Previews?

Re: Long, good Grantland article on LBSomeone will have to explain the "never recruit over a player" credo mentioned in this article. Are we supposed to believe Dean Smith never consciously recruited anyone who was better than the guys he had?

Re: Long, good Grantland article on LBCool article. Hope he stays interested long enough to get us started
