Memphis FEDEX and Mohegan Sun favored for AAC Tournaments

Postby Water Pony » Thu May 23, 2013 10:18 am

According to a report in the Orlando Sentinel, The American is leaning toward Memphis and Uncasville, CT for the Men's and Women's Conference Championship Tournaments. Apparently the Huskie Women get Home Court, as do the Memphis Tigers. I'll concede the Women's Tournament location and Memphis is a plus geographically for us.

Greenwich CT article advocating for a rotation for the Men's Tournament sites, e.g. Memphis, Philly/Orlando and Hartford.

Still don't know why Dallas couldn't be a part of that rotation. The American Airlines Center is a terrific venue.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Because until we win on a consitant basis, no one in dallas will come out to watch. It will look empty on tv which isn't a good thing. I agree the AAC at the AAC has a cool ring to it. Maybe if we win sooner rather than later, we can get a tourney sooner rather than later.

I think Philly would be a better idea for the first one, but if its menphis or ct for right now, I'm inclined to go with menphis becuase its sort of in the middle for everyone and menphis fans will fill the arena so it'll look good on tv

Did they submit a bid (either independently or jointly with SMU)?

Because there would be 15,000-19,000 empty seats at the American Airlines Center for the games
