where is the outrage?

LB wearing TCU colors? JJ would get roasted by the Ponyfans crowd, but LB gets a pass? I'm kidding of course, but just wanted to point out how ridiculous some of our fans get in their hatred towards JJ

LB has demonstrated that he cares about SMU. LB has demonstrated that he seeks the engagement and support of the SMU community. LB has not dissed SMU mascots. LB has not shown up wearing whatever the Kansas equivalent of a lei is. LB hasn't had a recruit out of the blue switch to a school with whom LB and his drunk agent are openly flirting.

So I think you can probably understand why he doesn't get nitpicked the way another coach might, if you try.

PS I thought his tie looked blue at the game, but I agree it was purplish in the postgame interview.

FYI the KU equivalent of a lei is a McDonald's All American. Keith Frazier and Emmanuel Mudiay qualify.

JJ cared enough about SMU to recruit LB.

LB is JJ's version of Mudiay, only bigger.

JJ did not recruit LB to SMU. He just encouraged him to hang in there after Orsini did not have him as his first choice when LB reached out to him for the job.

That was a blue tie not a purple tie. He was not wearing TCU colors. In fact most of the time he is a walking SMU billboard.

Actually I agree with that. It's the one good counter-point.

When the SMU job came open LB made it known publicly that he was interested in the job. When Orsini did not initially hire him June then called him to give him some encouragement to hang in there. When all of Orsini's main option fell through and we got LB. That's not recruiting. Also, I believe June wanted LB here to help change some of the obstacles here so there was probably even a motive for encouraging him to hang in there.

I was at the game and Coach Brown's tie was BLUE. Looked like the same one he wore last year.
