One thing I was really impressed by is how many stood doing important parts of the game. It was a legit big time college bball crowd. Several people around me even heckled a couple of UConn fans as they were leaving. It was great.
btw, I wish the students would jump up and down in unison like so many of the big bball schools do now. I've always thought that is cool.
For a second I thought about heckling the UCONN group next to me. Instead I thanked them for coming all the way from Ct when I found out the daughter attends Fordham. I had to bite my tongue from relating the Peruna is a killer story
It makes sense to me.

Sitting in 210 on 10th row is almost like being on the couch at home. The Big screen is right in front of me but I also get a center court view of the game.

211 row 5, seats 9 and 10, were great! Great perspective, close enough to see LB coaching away and get good looks on the players and their reactions.
The only 2 things that bothered me: 1. it was virtually impossible to see the score from where we were sitting, at half they added the score bar at the bottom of the stats jumbotron, that was better, I wonder if it was not working first half? 2. what the heck was the deal with the fan shop? That was the weakest fan shop i've seen. There should have been hundreds of red stuff to purchase, with that crowd, i think they dropped the ball on that one.
Other than that I was impressed with the gym, the players, the coaches, fans, and the game. Let's keep it rolling!

Classy - HorseSense. Good show!
That goes a long way towards building our image & simple respect towards others. Let the scoreboard tell the real story.

Talked to a random u conn fan at half. They seemed very bummed about the big east peel out, which is humorous since all the teams they thought were not good enough for the big east are kicking their butts.
Otherwise nice folks, although a bit arrogant. Probably understandable since they have a recent NC in basketball and they think the east coast basketball is where it is at.

All for the building of great rivalries in our new conference.

they've been a strong hoops program for quite some time; Big East break up to UConn = SWC break up to SMU, so I can understand their feelings. Let's hope we are competitive when we visit Storrs because it will be a hostile environment for both SMU and Houston after this week's results

Wish I could see it, but there are some real gems out there. Notre Dame is one of the nicest arenas I've ever been in for any level of sports. Purcell still sucks and they just renovated it. Know what I mean? Those arenas are a dime a dozen. What the teams and the fans do is what makes the arena special which is what you alluded to. But without seeing it, I can't give you 10 better for sure but I would bet there are quite a few on that level. Hell, University of Toledo's Savage Hall is nice as hell. It's still Toledo and meh. lol. Hopefully that place rocks from here on out though, I think some underestimate how special this year could really be with a few more wins.
I've been to Purcell post-renovation. Moody is every bit as nice as Purcell and in some ways nicer. Also pulled up pics of Savage Hall online and it doesn't look like it compares to Moody at all
It's not the same as Moody but similar. Has the lower level, high donor seats, then it has the "club" seats or whatever right above that bottom bowl with like the laptop hook-ups type deal. Another donor level, then the suites. Suites are only are on one side. That's more what I meant by the set-up. Next time I'm at Savage, I'll take a picture of the side that is a very similar set-up and try to post them. I'm not there very often. Was up at Crisler today for the NW game, that's a heck of a renovation they've done there. I really like the concourse and how they have the press room all glassed in so the fans can see the live post-game press conference. The trophy room is also a thing of beauty even though I hate Michigan. Very different atmosphere than the Schott.

I watched the second half on TV. Stadium looked really good. It sounded really loud at times but it was not consistently loud. I also thought the court looked very nice and bright.

I couldn't see the score at all. I was at mid court and the shot clock/basket blocked my view of the corner board. Need it on jumbo Tron

SID reported there was a malfunction with the big board. It will be fixed and the score will be prominently displayed in the future along with, I would assume, all the individual stats that were on the wall board.

C'mon, no school lost as much as UConn in conference realignment. Not one. They're allowed to be pissed.

They got the screws....again. But the conference is shaping up to be a solid basketball conference.
