Re: Any Basketball Recruits Attending Today's Game?OBF response.. "I do know a few people in the athletic department. When you've worked in one or work in one, it is like a small fraternity where everyone crosses paths at a point. Obviously this is given off the record to me as staff can't say names to the public as it's a violation of NCAA rules but it's going to be a big weekend. They're in Section 209 I believe in case people are on the recruit watch. First couple rows. It's not really privy information or anything that I'm getting, just friends that have passed the word onto me as they know I have an interest in the program. A lot of the unofficial visits are moving parts too, so just because they've said they will attend doesn't mean they will. Undoubtedly 1/4 of those will be no-shows and there will be more added to the list as it gets closer. Quite frankly, I couldn't tell you one recruit's name although he listed a few for me that were the bigger fish, hard to follow 2015 football recruiting when 2014 NSD isn't even here yet, especially Texas where OSU offers maybe a dozen in the state every year.
Things like this which are openly talked about in athletic departments is the reason that those people can't bet money in the NCAA tournament or college sports because we supposedly have "inside info" that nobody else has. But if you talked to a few of the right boosters there, I'm sure they could fill in the blanks real quick haha." Gotchya, thanks OBF. I hope June can get a lot of big weekends out of the Moody excitement. It truly seems that basketball is bringing a huge shot in the arm to the football recruiting. Hey, there is actually something for the recruits to do while visiting, and it's the best ticket in town! Beat the hell out of anybody!
