Although it contains an obscenity, I love (and grew up with) the Syracuse student body shouting "So What", "Who Cares", "Big Deal", "Who's He", and "Big Sh#t" - one after the introduction of each starter on the opposing team, in that order. Classic.

They used to do that at Maryland as well. The entire student body would hold up newspapers as well and pretend to be reading them during intros. After last player was introduced, they'd roll them up into a ball and throw them at the opposing teams bench lol.

Did that at highland park in the early 90s except the other teams bench was on the car side of the gym so they just got thrown in general.

How's about...

NUTS AND BOLTS, NUTS AND BOLTS, WE GOT SCREWED !

after a bad call?

that was one of our favorites at RLTurner HS basketball games, late 70's to mid 80's. I think it's clever if not old.

The band does that now. For better or for worse, you can't really tell it this year because all of the other crowd noise. It would be nice if we could get everyone to do it with them.

I just like "DEfense" and "S.M.U."

No need for profanity or riding the other team. Just cheer for our guys . . . until one of the opposing players or coaches does something that warrants it . . . or unless it's TCU, aTm (or any other Big12 school), Memphis or Houston. Those teams are fair game IMHO. Light their asses up!

There was no profanity from my band groups. Replace that last one with Go Home.

What did you apply to Duke and get rejected or something? Wojo steal your girlfriend?

If the thread is about student participation and home court advantage, I daresay there are a handful of school's student sections that should be discussed in relation to ideas, and whatever your beef with Duke, you cannot deny that Duke is one of them. And since I saw Cameron first hand every home game for 3 years after graduating from SMU, this "dook dweeb" will continue to make Duke references where appropriate.

Oh, and since I grew up in Kansas attending Jayhawk basketball games, do I have your permission to discuss what happens in Phog Allen, or is that off limits too?

An alternative to Na Na Na Na Goodbye - you cheer, yell, and clap so hard it makes the arena deafening loud. There are plenty of times that should be done, but it is especially great when you're sending a team home after a wide margin of victory.

If there was ever a thread where talking about Duke (or the Cameron Crazies and that letter in particular) is appropriate, it is this one. But I get it, you're a Maryland guy.

I hope one day SMU basketball develops rivalries that inspire that level of irrational hate. I love it. Seriously.

(Also, joking about sexual assault is pretty inappropriate... those, along with racism/bigotry, are about the only things that are off-limits for me personally. Everyone has their own "line" though.)
