We played the Hogs in the third game of the season, they shot the lights out in the first half and we were still within a couple of baskets within a minute or so of the game. They also took Florida to OT and beat Kentucky at home. They have a rich tradition and great fan base.
Virginia, we had an open shot ready for the final shot of the game but called a TO and lost by a bucket. This team is ranked #17 and essentially tied atop the ACC standings. Neutral court, but we were with them toe to toe - also an early game of the season.
Cincy and Louisville - both premier programs, tough places to play. Cincy we got hosed on calls and did not play well. Louisville we did not play well - testament to the quality of both of these teams. Both ranked in the top 15.
USF, we all admit was a bad loss. But it was only a few weeks ago that these guys took Cincy down to the wire and were leading most of the game - IN CINCY! I think this was the wake-up call for the team, they've played lights out since this game.
We've not played as strong on the road as we have at home, isn't this the case with most schools though? This week and the games in UConn and Memphis will determine if we have road woes. These games will be good tests of the level of our program. This team has gotten stronger and stronger with each game.
