Does this mean that we only get tickets to the Final Four if SMU makes it?

Yes. All of these are for the SMU allottment of tickets (which are better locations than general public tickets). If SMU is not there, then there is no SMU allottment. You can buy general tickets to any of the sites on your own (if they are available -- Final Four tickets were allotted through a lottery you had to enter shortly after the last Final Four), or, of course, go through the secondary market.

I won FF lottery tickets this year (my husband and several SMU friends who also put in for tickets did not), but they are really crappy seats. If SMU is there (and I didn't die of a heart attack or aneurysm when it happened), my general tickets will immediately go on sale because their location is pretty sucky.

I hate to say the Final Four kind of sucks unless you are close. Just way too big for basketball

You are right. I made that mistake a couple of years ago. Not worth it unless you just want to say, "I was there." Hope to watch the team on TV live from Arlington! Pony up.

I am amazed at the ppl who sit in the rafters and pay $200 a ticket to say they were there. Luckily I had a hard core alum from a school w/ decent seats, not great. Perhaps I imagine at JerryWorld it will be on the JerryScreen.

Agreed. But several years ago at the Final Four in San Antonio, were were able to scope out access to the lower sections and moved from our seats in the last row of the Alamodome.

I grew up in Kansas rooting for the Jayhawks, went to SMU, then to Duke, and my mom is a Wichita State alum, so there is a chance that at least one team I would be happy to win will be in Arlington, and if so, I will be in attendance regardless of where I am in the building. If it's one of those years where there are 4 teams I don't care about and I wish they could all lose, then I'll probably sell.

Apparently, there is a lot of misinformation in this thread and confusion created by the email that went out earlier today. I understand that the SID will post in this thread later tonight or tomorrow morning to try to clear it up.

For example, selecting 10 for each location is a far cry from the ability to get 10 tickets. I'll refrain from adding further confusion but ask that people hold off until the SID has an opportunity to clarify.

Additionally, does anyone know if/how tickets will be allocated to students? Would assume there would be a group (probably fairly small) that would be reserved for students.

I would wait for the SID to address.

I would direct further questions on this to the SMU ticket office.

I'm in the MC but don't have season tickets, and didn't get the email. It must be going to season ticket holders only for now.
