regardless of the blame assessment - this is an excellent point. other teams, Morgan campaign, band seniors, whatever - the intros are a total buzz kill at the height of the game. pre game or half time - but time outs should be reserved for keeping the energy up.
It is not complaining to try to keep improving. You think Larry is patting himself on the back right now? No - he is trying to be the best. As should SMU in everything we do.

Totally agree. Save the pat on the back stuff for pregame/halftime, or our OOC games against the Little Sisters of the Poor. They should just play that jump around or Seven Nation song during every timeout, the students go [deleted] nuts. I also liked when they showed the decibel meter, the place got loud for that as well

Didn't the band, cheerleaders, and poms already get their moment of recognition at the final home football game?
How many participation trophies do kids need these days?

I would be ok if they athletic department sent me an email about the participation trophy rather than killing the mood at a game.
I promise I'll read it

Game production this year is 100xs better than last year and on par with any major professional sporting event.
To me, the Louisville game production had lulls that brought the energy level down. I remember thinking what is going on.....why this game?
If you're going to change it up for a big game, you go large....something that pumps the crowd up.
When the cowboys were in the playoffs, Jerry always stepped up to the plate with more flames, more fireworks, louder music, bigger halftime production, uncle Ted playing anthem, skimpier cheerleader outfits, and $20 keeper cups.

game preso has been fantastic... this really was the only game where it was a noticeable buzzkill to see the awards, god bless the morgan campaign people, etc... just didn't work. People wanted to keep it going, music, dance cam, whatever. Oh well...

Could technically be a different set of people if some left or joined. If we all get participation trophies then we can't leave those new people out. I did get you a trophy for you comment though.
