I hope we do play 20 conference games; still leaves 10-11 non-conference games which is plenty. Play in at least one quality tourney, schedule TCU and UNT and then add in some big names if we can get home/home deals...or one of those "made for TV" neutral site deals. Non-conference needs to get tougher because the conference will not be as strong

I would take it a step further even, it's not that they need to schedule powerhouse teams in the OOC, but they need to schedule solid teams, RPI 50-100 or RPI 100-150. Far too many RPI 150+. More teams like Wyoming would do the team a lot of good in the RPI battle, winnable games against respectable teams.

20 game conference schedule makes even less sense. Either add VCU or Wichita to offset Navy football, and go with a 16 game conference schedule. Or, an 18 game conference schedule that the AAC is currently being used.

Yeah.

I agree, lots of room to improve rpi over this year without having to schedule more tough games at the top end.

TCU or UNT. No need to play both. Bad for our RPI

no need to play either.

Give me that UVA team again. We need to play P5 teams - the new AAC without the Ville, but with ECU, Tulane, is going to really drag down our SOS and RPI, even though those games should be easy W's.

Give me more games against UVA/Arkansas/etc. Less games against TAMUPine Bluff.

Smart scheduling means avoiding the extremes. Schedule no top 25 teams and no teams outside the top 150. Play a heavy dose of teams ranked 75-100. Those are very winnable games and protect you against a bad loss if you do lose and really strengthen your rpi. The top 25 does nothing for you if you don't win them. Outside the top 150 wrecks your rpi and is deadly if you lose.

Keep TCU for lots of reasons -- traditional rivalry, legacy SWC school, easy game for a road trip or a neutral site at AAU, don't want them to retaliate by dropping football game.
