NCAA, NIT, Early Offseason???

Postby J.T.supporta » Thu Sep 28, 2006 10:52 pm

What are your takings on this years upcoming Season, the Inaugural Season of Coach Doh...???

I feel that Bamba Fall will put the whole team on his massive 7 foot plus frame and carry this team thru a deep run in the CUSA Tourny...

But I feel as if it will take Coach Doh 2 years to get this program where he wants them.

I see SMU going to the NIT and losing in the First Round...

What DO Yall Think???

If he gets this team to the NIT, he should win Coach of the Year honors.......

This team will go on probation for burgers and Cheer violations and have single-digit wins.

And that will be with a good coaching job.

4+ years until SMU will be competitive for the Tournament under the present rebuilding Model.

By that time, this author will be up to 9,000 postings explaining why all of our athletic programs are tanking and will continue to implode.

and maybe some year I'll be wrong. Unlike some negative posters I actually have a factual basis for my analysis. Here's another one for you-SMU will not go to a Bowl in Football for at least the next 3 years either. Talent level simply is not that high in coming years-next year especially will be a lean year as schedule is much tougher.

I am hoping that due to the fact you should be able to turn a BB program faster than a FB program just due to smaller numbers of players that the turn will happen sooner. Without JC contribution, however, quicker than 3 years will be tough.

tall != massive

But seriously, I don't see any way we make the postseason this year. We just don't have the depth, even if Coach D. gets everybody playing to their full potential. With a short bench we will wear out before the end of the season.

There you go again. Can everybody feel the warmth? Breathtaking.

The question is if the author truly wants to be wrong or wants to hold the high ground in this quest to be right.

The statements are not any different than what we have experienced in the past. Here's a thought about 2007,

It might be a good idea to play the schedule to determine what kind of team there is. And there is something to be considered.

Remember all of the players that were redshirted -- whom I believe are an upgrade than what we have seen in the past 5 years -- they will be older and more experienced. I have talked to Jeremy Crabtree at Rivals who contends these classes are better and project to make us more competitive.

But that's why we play the games.

When you say that the freshman class is an upgrade of what we have seen around here in 5 years-I'm confident you don't know the first thing you are talking about. You don't think I've heard similar comments in 96, 97, 98, 99, 00, 01, 02, 03, 04 05? The only raving I hear about the talent level in our freshman class is on this board.

Then, you are basically saying Jeremy Crabtree is an idiot and he doesn't know what he is talking about either. Of course, you're the only one who does.

That's too bad James Mapps rushed for 132 yards -- because he sucks.
That's too bad Justin Willis is the highest Division I rated passer among all Texas DI schools -- because he sucks.
That's tood bad Bryan McCann made a pretty interception last Saturday -- because he sucks.
That's too bad Justin Rodgers had 3 sacks and a forced fumble -- because he sucks.
That's too bad Thomas Morstad kicked a 51-yard FG -- because he sucks.

If you know so much, then you start up your own recruiting service, run around all over the country, evaluate the talent, hold your own junior days, put the number of stars on the athletes and critique all 117 Division I recruiting classes on Feb. 7.

And stop wasting our time.

It's obvious you don't need Rivals or Scout or Max Emfinger.

I'll put it to you this way: When it comes to judging the incoming talent, I'll take Crabtree's word over yours every day and twice on Sunday.

I read Jeremy Crabtree-his company rated our class the 105th best recruiting class in the country. Recruiting analysts make money sucking up to cheerleaders like you.
