I recall a lot of folks saying that six years ago when he hired Coach Doherty (I was among them).

And how many candidates turned him down before he got Brown to accept?

Wow, how quickly everyone chugged down the kool-aid on this. Don't get me wrong, I am as excited as anyone about LB (and even more about the staff reportedly coming with him), and SO & Co. deserve major props for getting it done. That said, I for one am not real thrilled with the public shots the program and the university took getting to this point (even up to a couple hours ago when LB was "thinking about it"). We looked like a group who either couldn't manage the search or worse a program that couldn't attract a quality coach for any amount of money. Both of those images will last for some period of time until we see what this new staff brings to the table. I am hoping LB exceeds every expectation and that we have started the process of building a kick-ass program going into the Big East. I am also hoping that some lessons were learned about how to do this in a more effective manner when the time comes again in the future.

And with that, I will hop down from my soap box, say "welcome to Big D, LB", and sit back and wait to see our bball team light up the Big East!

I'm excited about Brown, too, and I hope he can be as good as we all hope. But that's very well said, RyanSMU98. The Orsini kool-aid seems to be flowing freely again.

Not to put a damper on this but nothing is done til the contracts are signed and the ink is dry. I am excited about the prospects but am withholding my real excitement until things are totally finalized. It looks like he is going to put together a top level team of assts.

you guys ought to put bumper stickers on your car:

GEE I MISS JIM COPELAND

Orsini is an asset-he has dragged us kickin' and screaming toward a financially competitive Model-even with miniscule numbers of alumni even interested in the program
