I took a look at their basketball message board and saw the following posts in their game thread. It has been a long time since anyone posted anything like this about SMU, usually it is the opposite: is there a reason why their crowd is all hyped up for this game? Is a televised ESPN News game that special?
Responses included: Maybe their student section/crowd actually cares.
Sigh.

Maybe they are just really excited to watch their team on its way to an NCAA tournament?

Three reasons the students are hyped for every game: 1. Great new facility 2. Winning and winning with dominance 3. Beer.... Let's face it. This team is really exciting to watch. I rarely ever went to a Basketball game or tuned it to watch. I have not missed a game this season. This team is so fun to watch and with each win the just keep adding to the hype and excitement for the next game...

Looking at Rutgers message board. It seems like the only way Rutgers loses in football & basketball is the referees. . . Like I said Rutger's fan base rubs me the wrong way. They got the invite from the Big 10, but in no way whatsoever deserve the invite to the Big 10

Game presentation was good. Music selection was better in the UConn game imo.

I guess we looked good on TV. I hope some of the students read this. They deserve all the credit in the world.

That was my exact thought last night after reading through there following the game. There's a couple that get it, but the large majority...uck.

to be fair SMU did get all the calls last night. It's nice to finally start to get a home court advantage with the refs
