Update

Ramona Shelburne @ramonashelburne · 51m

We hear Lakers do plan to speak with Derek Fisher this week. Also Scott Skiles and Larry Brown at some point.

Lakers are just talking to everybody. I'd like to think Larry is just giving them the courtesy of letting them talk to him (to try and convince him) instead of just saying no not interested.

I think he stays.

The man has nothing left to prove. And is well into his 70's... calm down. He is with his family here. And.... IF he were to leave... we have Jank. Calm down, Brown did his job and put us on the local and national map. Moody will be rocking!!!

LA is a housefire and he's got an *outside* shot at a natty here next year. He'd have to be nuts to leave. But it is larry...

Kupchak and Brown are buds....Tar Heels. He may interview but I seriously doubt he needs the stress that job would impart on someone his age. He's taken his last head coaching job and we've got him.

If they make him a good offer, I'm sure he'll take it. He's already left the blue print at SMU. Up to alums, community, and admin to take advantage of it or not.

I agree with all of this. Would have to be the right offer and they're going to somehow have to show him they can win and win very soon. The right offer and I think he would do it too. That said, I don't think the Lakers can offer what he would want at this point in his career. Something like the Pacers or OKC might be a different story but it's looking like neither are going to move in another direction. Think LB will ultimately stay but that guy has a penchant for taking on projects and SMU is nearly complete.

I don't think he'd leave Eman out to dry but who knows with the right offer. Next offseason is probably the REAL time to worry. But it would be shame on us if he were to move on after next season and we were to fall apart.
