Re: West VirginiaSo what are "level II" and "level III" violations?
Texas bites. Baylor sucks. As it was in the beginning, is now, and evermore shall be. Amen.
Re: West VirginiaNot sure. It isn't really clear. By the way, does anyone know what 'level' our alleged violations are?
Re: West VirginiaMeanwhile, their ex-athletic director is in a cushy NCAA job and they got admitted to the Big 12.
It pays to cheat.
Re: West Virginiabetween June 2010 and February 2013.
Most of these cases seem to take a couple of years to come down, at least all the ones that I have seen...
Re: West VirginiaAnd by then any players that were involved are gone and the current players get the punishment.

Re: West Virginiano real sanctions-I'll take this paddling right now. You investigate in good faith, you turn yourself in for obvious violations, you self impose reasonable sanctions like West Virginia did, you identify program improvement to remedy lack of institutional oversight/control, suspend/terminate the "rogue" personnel and you move on after getting called a "Bad Boy" by NCAA. This is more reprimand than probation. Read to Sanctions section in the NCAA Report link. If you play their game the mitigating factors get you off the hook. If you knowingly lie to the NCAA 5 times in 10 years, you knowingly hinder the investigation, you intentionally fail to clean up former serious violations, and you have a long history of knowingly and intentionally failing to cooperate with the NCAA at the highest level of the governing levels of the university you are going to get nailed
