Mock Draft: Shake Milton #16 in next year's (2017) NBA Draft

Nbadraft.net and Draft Express are the two most reputable mock draft websites. I can't believe it but Draft Express has Shake as the #16 pick in next year's draft.

Not that surprising he is a 6-5 guard with good ball skills getting a lot of minutes with LB. whether or not he would actually go that high would have to do with how he does when teams individually work him out. Shake has potential to be a legitimate lottery pick if he refines his game a bit more under LB. there is a big difference between being a lottery pick and not.

Larry, stop making him look so good. We need him to stick around a while.

Waaay too flipping early IMHO. He's a solid freshman with solid skills and high bball IQ no doubt. Let's see how he does against the rest of the AAC (UConn guards, etc). And then if he can handle a big part of the scoring load next year.

Agree that Shake could use another year of physical maturation (time in the weight room) and a year of running this team before considering turning pro. Would be nice for SMU to produce a lottery pick someday.

Shake needs to improve his individual defending, his passing, and free throw shooting. He could also use some increase in his bulk just a bit so as to not get worked by the more physical guards at the next level. He will definitely stay for at least 1 more year if he is interested in making and staying on an NBA roster.

Again. John Koncak went #5 overall. That was the draft in which the NBA fixed the lottery (bent the Knicks Card) so that Ewing would end up playing in NYC with the Knicks.

Get him to a 2018 lottery pick and I'll be very happy.

If Shake is drafted 16th in the 2017 draft that will mean he played really damn well for us in 2016-17

Also if we score more than our opponents we win.

Ha, yea. I meant if he plays well enough next year to get drafted that high I'll be happy

Would mean he really stepped up and filled Nic's absence

Shake will be counted on to run this team next year. Not sure anyone will be able to replace little Nic, but as a true Frosh, Shake has a better than 2:1 assist/turnover ratio which is rare among Frosh in Division I hoops
