Is TCU going to fire Trent Johnson?

Postby East Coast Mustang » Tue Mar 08, 2016 1:15 am

He's 8-62 in Big 12 play since taking the job- that's [deleted] terrible. Reading over on their boards, it seems a lot of people want him gone but some think he should get another year since he played in a HS gym for 2 years.

If I were them I'd try and get Brad Underwood or Scott Cross over at UTA. Mac Engel wrote it in the FWST asking if Billy Gillespie could be an option - I'd pitch in money to watch that debacle

I believe Johnson is on very thin ice in cowtown. I actually think Pastner would be a decent hire for TCU. We all know he can recruit but he can't coach. That type of coach has been pretty successful in the Big 12, see Scott Drew and Rick Barnes.

Beard from UALR (little rock) will looking to move at the end of what will probably be a 29-30 win season.

He is popping up on short list already.

I could agree with that. I hope Little Rock can keep him for a while. He absolutely worked miracles this year. Other than the last loss to App St. that most likely cost them an at large lock, they have been great. Hopefully they can win their tourney.

With the exception of BB, the people running things in Ft Worth have consistently made good decisions.

IMHO - they could do much worse than hiring a guy who went undefeated this year. Jank deserves a head coaching job.

Uhhh....please don't let that happen. For the love of all that is right, Jank needs to stay at SMU.

I hope he's smart enough to realize, after two previous mid stints, that he wouldn't have success at TCU

It's hard to see Jank at TCU going that great.
Also - wow at TCU beating Tech.
