I haven't really seen people discuss betting on here but I think now is the time. I have made quite a bit on SMU covering spreads this year.
I'm a bit nervous tonight with a -17 line. What do y'all think about us covering that? I know it's large but we play Tulsa really well.
Maybe this thread can continue to discuss betting lines as the season closes out and the tournament progresses..

I re watched the away game last night and we pulled away in the second half rather effortlessly. It's hard to think we have that ability in perpetuity as the season gets late, but I also think Moody is worth a few points.
My other gut tells me Tulsa is pretty much slotted in the AAC tourney with the UCONN loss last night, not sure a win helps them. There are no more resume win for them either.
Having said all that, I think 17 is doable.

Look at the history of the series. The away team has done very well for either side the last 12 games...

Spread seems too high. That being said, we are 9-1 in last ten I think and have been beating the whole year.

i doubt we will bet the spread here, the only times we dont seem to beat it are when its very high for us to win. When we get up a lot we should be giving walkons minutes which brings us away from beating the spread.

Jank doesn't play them until 1:30 left in the game regardless of the score, he has said many times that he is always uneasy about putting them in. They cover

Tulsa has a history of playing well at Moody. Seventeen is a wide spread. I'd take Tulsa and the points.

Like some of the above, my betting friends have done very well with the ponies this year. I think we may lead the nation against the spread. That's a sign of a great team, too.

Last home game was Tulane -- won the game but got crushed on the big spread.

I wouldn't bet that spread. We win, but I bet it's more like 8-12 point range.

14-4 at home against the spread. You could have done really well this year with an aggressive betting strategy.
