Roster updates before openerIn his Monday media session, head coach Tim Jankovich confirmed:
• Guard Darius McBride was in a "scary" auto accident and has not practiced in weeks. The hope at the moment is for a return to health. • Forward/center Yor Anei has recovering from an undisclosed "medical issue." The hope is he'll be back on the practice floor soon, perhaps as early as this week. • Guard Tyson Jolly is dealing with a personal issue and will not play Wednesday. Jankovich said he is "hopeful" that Jolly will be available at some point this season. • Guard Will Douglas, who dealt with injury and illness last season, is fully healthy and has looked good in preseason camp. Re: Roster updates before openerHoly smokes, only the Douglas news is good. That’s a rough update.
Re: Roster updates before openerVery interested to see if William Douglas will be on the court.

Re: Roster updates before openerWith Anei, Jolly & McBride all unavailable for the opener and possibly several games if not the entire season, let's hope Jank is right about virtually everyone having improved significantly over last year. Going to be an interesting year and who knows how many seniors might take advantage of getting an extra year and want to come back for '21-'22. Given the challenges in recruiting, would be nice to see some of the veteran guys back since I don't see too many professional opportunities for them based on what we have seen in the past. I'm sure guys will be watching to see how Isiah Mike fares in Germany after deciding to forego another season. College ball is tough on anyone with a family so hopefully it was the right decision for Mike.
Re: Roster updates before openerThis is just awful. We are starting the season. Without three potential starters none of whom ha e a timetable to return. Jolly has been active I. Twitter which leads me to this is academic related?
Re: Roster updates before openerand meanwhile tanko-vid is already doing the CYA act to cover himself in the event of a poor season. Had he been recruiting these past years he would have other good players able to step up and fill the void. Is this possibly another season of excuses??
Re: Roster updates before opener
When did Jankovic say that everyone improved significantly? I must have missed the interview. He's not one to exaggerate much so that would be very welcome news!
Only two starters. McBride is the freshman. McNeill is the transfer who is a likely starter.
Re: Roster updates before openerWith fourteen rostered players and three injured we thankfully still have enough for some good five-on-five practice to get ready for the season!

Roster updates before openerNo worries with Douglas on the roster. Expecting big things from him this year.
A long tradition of existence.
Re: Roster updates before openerThe only real worry is Jolly. Hope his stuff gets ironed out soon.
Re: Roster updates before openerI'm more worried about Anei given our roster needs and that he is still depending on a waiver to be eligible this season, not to mention his injury situation.
Re: Roster updates before opener
Really? Starting already? They haven't even played a game. He was asked a question and he answered it. Would you prefer that he lied about McBride, Jolly and Anei? Maybe hoping nobody would notice when they don't play tomorrow? "What kind of weirdo school are they running over there in Fort Worth?"

Re: Roster updates before openerBitterness will eat you alive.
Re: Roster updates before openerAn article I read said Anei had a wrist infection.
