And the dude with no name on his jersey. I've never been to a college sporting event like that. They suited and played 5 guys the whole game. Their 'big' was the size of most college guards. Do we really need to play that team?

I have no problem w/a cupcake or two like DC for SMU, cause its not like high majors don't just load up on the FGC & Longwoods of the world. We need 2 of the next 3. One of OSU & Ole Miss, and beat La Tech at home

Here's Doh post-game and sound like Candy man spoke to the team at half and got them re-focused first before Doh chewed on them...

While everyone tries to schedule easy, local teams for games (Uconn played Fairfield last night)during the holidays, I am not sure Dallas Christian even qualifies as (1) a real college and (2) if their BB team qualifies as a real team.

1) I lived in the Metroplex for 30 years. To the best of my knowledge, I never heard of that university prior to their ending up on SMU's scheduled. UNT, UDallas, TWU, Dallas Baptist, Paul Quinn I have heard of.

2) They only dressed 5 players despite allegedly having a 12 man roster. http://www.dallas.edu/athletics/blog/?page_id=707

Most entertaining part of last night was watching the tiny white kid (#5) in the half time little kids game.

That kid could ball.

That's popular opinion, not actually how schedules are made. Also, it's relative. A 'guaranteed win' for SMU is very different than say UNC. Also, CUSA is every bit as difficult for SMU, as the ACC is for anyone not named UNC/Dook etc. Simply, non power conference schools play a certain number of high majors, a certain number of 50/50 games, and a certain number of low majors. Those schools that schedule out of balance, tend to do so b/c they have a very nice roster returning, or they are a high mid that looks and smells more like a high major. In most cases, both.

I thought Tulsa scheduled pretty well this season, and they've lost 5 of their last 6. They stepped to the plate, but swung and missed and have 7 losses before Xmas. SMU's schedule is fine, they just have 2 more losses than they should have, heading into OSU, La Tech & Ole Miss. They need to split w/the power conference squads to get a W back. Also, La Tech is a sorta a 50/50 game, unfortunately, so we need that one too.

This. I mentioned it on another thread. Kid was awesome...

Saw him in the concourse with his folks as they were leaving. Gave him a high five. He was smiling ear to ear. Really cool.

That & a stack of cash. I wonder when rivals will start posting the 2022 verbal commitments?

That litle guy was good. I am also surprised to read that people are asking why we played a team like that. We obviously need to play more teams like that because after the first half, I seriosly thought Dallas Christian looked better than us. We seriously need to get our stuff together or OSU is going to run all over us.
