Seriously wondering if we would be better off as an independent team without a formal conference affiliation. I can't see what the benefit of being in the AAC has been. Conference has zero credibility as we will see with the selections later, it's a random collection of institutions, and the officiating all year long has made the games virtually unwatchable as you have no idea what they will call when.

Maybe just go it alone until a better conference becomes an option like ND football does

Good news is we played really well with both Ryan and Sterling on the bench with 2 fouls each. B Moore really stepped up. Keep him on Purvis. If they want to play small, we can defend that but you can't defend US playing small. Their best hope is Purvis hitting 3s, Brimah staying in and controlling the middle, and Boat going off and drawing fouls and hitting 3s. That's pretty much their only hope. We have many more different ways to beat you. We are better in the half court/slow pace, but can also run if we need to. Jump Purvis with a big and stay on Boat. Keep attacking the rim on offense. Pretty damn simple.

The conference has been beneficial for us because all of our games are now televised, but I agree, nobody respects the conference. Look at the seeds our NCAA Tourney teams got last year. And this year with an RPI of 13, we're projected to be a 6-seed.

I agree, but them we need to do better in our early season OOC games. High RPI is because of who we played...but let's get that high seed because we beat those teams.
