SAE: Get a clueModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: SAE: Get a clueLook on the bright side, at least the SAE pledges didn't grab their nuts and grunt the entire game.
Re: SAE: Get a clueBet if we offered them white jump suits and crew cuts the old red or blue golf shirt would not look so bad.
Re: SAE: Get a clueMy view:
Solved attendance issue so now we can try to solve uniformity issues. The school is more important than your bro-hood so get creative on integrating the Letters with school colors. Leader of the Band-itos.

Re: SAE: Get a clueWe should all wear the same thing...
![]() But heck, this is who we are... ![]() We just want to say that we're not Spirit Bunnies anymore. We always hated that name. It bugged the heck out of Dina and me. - It's just such a put-down! - Really! We know you've got a lot of spirit, everybody, right? And we're gonna destroy Lincoln next week! All right! [crickets] You know, it takes a lot of courage to get up here... and do something that you know people will make fun of. - Yeah. - Man... Re: SAE: Get a clueDid we solve attendance issue? Weren't these pledges made to be there. Where were all the actives?
Hopefully they too will come out.
Re: SAE: Get a clueThey brought a SMU flag...but decided to fold it up and pocket it. Truth.

Not a bad idea. Then all the other games they could wear school colors. "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

Re: SAE: Get a cluewhile it would be nice to see Moody packed in a sea of red or blue or white and look "big time", our reality is that SMU is a greek driven student body (the fact that the mention of a frat generates a 10 page thread is proof enough) and the majority of our students (and alumni I should add) just aren't as fanatical as fans of "big time" programs. Maybe in time that will change, but right now I'm just glad these guys are showing up for a Sunday game against Hofstra. Wouldn't have happened last year
Re: SAE: Get a clue
Agreed. We didn't even wear our Greek letters in public, we spelled it out if we wore them. Obviously I was at a different school but if we were at our school sporting event, we were united by our school, not our Greek affiliation.
Re: SAE: Get a clueJust spoke with an SAE and he indicated that they will be wearing school colors from now on.

Re: SAE: Get a clueCharleston - kind of disagree. The first game after rush is over always has the "jersey show". It did happen last year also.
I think what gets it to change is people bringing it up to people who can make the difference - SAE pledge trainer or chapter advisor.
Re: SAE: Get a clueBeing a fellow member of the Greek community and an advocate for uniformity among our fan-community; I understand why the SAE's wear their jerseys. Fact of the matter is, is that the school is larger than the frat. Because SMU has been dormant in any "real" collegiate athletic competitiveness, the only exception coming from men's soccer I admit, the tradition for SAE's to wear their jersey's at the game has taken the place of actual school spirit. Christ, look at homecoming week, almost all of the floats are built by frats and sororities (mainly sororities). But with the emergence of an actual competitive program, and a nationally televised audience, it doesn't make any sense to me why y'all wear your jerseys. This is one school, and y'all are 1 out of ten fraternities. That being said, y'all's spirit was great! Half the reason we had a dunk contest between our big men in the second half was because you guys were loud as all hell.
The idea of talking to the people who run the ship at SAE is a good solution in my mind. An even better solution would be for someone in the promotions office of the athletic department to start handing out shirts to the student section so we actually look like a student body and not just a bunch of greek aces. Go mustangs.
Re: SAE: Get a clue
Thanks for the post, ATX. Well said and that's a very mature way to look at the situation. Do the MOB and the fraternities work together? Why not make all fraternities members also members of the MOB? Just add $30 to your dues and get everyone involved that way. Just a thought SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four

Re: SAE: Get a clueHey just glad that the frats are there and cheering. No big deal all....colors or not.
