If you've had seats starting with Doh's last season, grandfathered and get first refusal of your seats provided you pay the MC donation which is now per seat for everybody. Loge is going to $5000 per seat from $1000 for right to buy 4 seats.

So if your minimum donation was 500 for 4 seats this year then it is now 2000 next year?

What was the mood/atmosphere there?

Yes. Most seemed okay once they heard they can keep their seats or have first chance to downgrade if need be.

So, can someone who attended the meeting confirm that if you are a current BBall season ticket holder and you are willing to pay the going price and seat donation thT you can keep your current seats?

Only if you have had them four seasons based on what PonySnob said.

And if you haven't had them for 4 years?

Best news I've heard in a while. Looking forward to additional details, but sounds OK so far.

I was there...alot of long term ticket holders..if you fit you can keep your seats, but it appears there will be separate giving requirements for football and basketball...my seats went from $1000 each to $2500 each, plus the donation to the basketball mustang club donation...it is clear they want to create an immediate cash infusion...the reseating will not be reseated again for several years,so up your basketball gift now...all of this looked pretty final and will be made public in about a week..I think many folks were between confused to moderately angry....but most expected something like this...it was emphasized that there was a need to cover the costs of other non revenue sports..the primary speaker said he would be evaluated by the results...he also assured everyone that fairness was somehow involved...I think I will downgrade, the food in the "club" is not that appealing to me. Personally, I think smu is trying to be fair, but needs money.

They can raise tickets as high as they want, but it just seems ridiculous to not give every ticket holder the chance to pay the new price for their tickets no matter how long they have had them - but this fact has been pointed out many times.

It sounds like it's a done deal.

So if not grandfathered I do not have the option to retain my current seats even at the new donation amount? And football donations will not count?

I was specifically clear with the Mustang Club that my donations were with the assurance of the ability to renew (even at new requirements) before they were lost. I was told that was absolutely the case.

Side note: Priority points have become nothing but a tiebreaker.

I sit right under the boxes. I paid 250 each for my 2 seats this year. How much would I be expected to pay next year to keep them total?

So if donation minimums increased along with the price per seat... what is the rate of increase per seat?

I understand asking people to renew at the new going rate.

It's a marketplace and supply / demand should take precedence.

But if they tell season ticket holders - regardless of duration - that they can't renew in the same spot at any price then you will have a seriously upset group of people. Me especially.

I've had football season tickets for 30+ years and BBall for 3 years. Yes I bought season tickets when LB was announced as HC. I'm one sorry bandwagon SOB.

if I'm told "you are moving seats and STFU " then I will catch the games on TV and cherry pick a few games off stub hub. Plus adios to my MC membership and football season tickets. I've shown loyalty to the school and the first time they have a revenue team that is good - they start pushing the long term fans around.

Mistake. I'll watch on TV. see the empty arena and wait for the "season ticket special" to arrive in the mail. Which by then I may have more of a life and will have learned to live without SMU sports. Clearly the football experience has been a whipping and I must not have much of a life to have sat through Gregg, Rossely, Cavan, Bennett, and jones.

I've been loyal. If I don't get it in return. Then sayonara.
