All I know is that if the NCAA hands down any penalties, it would only be appropriate for our administration to just go ahead and double them, just to make a point.

So if Tubbs has to keep this Boat Anchor, that means his replacement will as well?

What coach in their right mind would want Matt on their team. He's not even that talented to begin with.

Does this mean we replace JT with a Dave Campo-type coach?

And finally, if we had any type of student support, it would be funny if they brought hamburgers and Tide to our season opener.

Since we got the death penalty it is school policy to immediately report any "possible" violation to the NCAA gestapo in order to avoid future consideration for that penalty.

Maybe Friarwolf is really Max Williams and he is using circumstance and leverage to get Tubbs out. I'm kidding, but this sucks. No wonder recruiting is quiet at the moment. We have a full fledged [deleted] match on our hands between a wealthy booster and a coach. Thanks Mr. Williams. Really sounds like a case of a grandfather who wants to use his influence to make sure his grandkid gets playing time. There were rumblings early last fall about Matt williams not understanding why he wasnt playing more. Well, I guess he ran to granddad, and now granddad wants a new coach. Forget Orsini, lets just bend over and make Max Williams AD.

HF- Unless you know something I don't, you're making some pretty wild accusations about Max and Matt.

Not to mention that fact that Williams was redshirted due to surgery. He couldn't play regardless of how much grandpa compained.

Hooper, if I was Max Williams, we would already have that state of the art gym and practice facility. It would be named in honor of Doc Hayes.......

So you immediated make the jump from Matt Williams wanting to play, to him running and crying to Granpa, to Granpa orchestrating a master plan to oust the coach and get his alma mater in trouble with the NCAA.

Like I said, either you know something I don't, or you're making some seriously wild accusations.

I respect and agree with you support of Tubbs, this just seems a little far-fetched. If rules were broken, I expect Tubbs to know them and abide by them, not Max Williams.

I'm not the Dallas Morning News, I can speculate all I want. More people should be questioning Williams motives and what he is all about. This whole thing smells really bad. Its not hard to imagine what is going on here.

NCAA rules require ALL violations to be immediately reported-I fully support Copeland and a full investiogation of all legitimate rules violations at SMU. Get this through your head-this is not the 1980s. If a university has administrative control, investigates all reported violations and self-imposes corrective action the NCAA will give you a pass.

thats fine and good. My issue is with grandpa. As for Copeland he probably should have been wary of this dynamic between proud/rich/booster grandpa and program and made sure something like this didnt happen.

Good points, and basically I agree with you.

However, this still sounds like someone getting sent up in front of the firing squad for jaywalking.

No. Tubbs should know the rulebook backwards and forwards. All he had to say was "no, that's against the rules."

He didn't. Its his responsibility to know the rules, not Gramps.

maybe so, maybe Tubbs made some dumb mistakes. Still, screw Gramps, he had a major hand in this. that is obvious. he probably had motives too.
