Stallion's opinion is valid here guys...He praised the class as being a good one consider hte constraints but lets be honest. The class is not the 25th best class in the nation. I am just holding out hope that given a full year, Doh's next class will leave little to debate and be a gangbuster of a class.

Man o man have we gotten picky. This is the best class we have sniffed in years and all we get is "ho hum?"
OK, it might not be the 25th best but by any measure it is darn good.
Go Ponies!! Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad

As of today, HoopScoop has moved SMU up to 21st best class. They had a VERY flattering lengthy recruiting blurb on SMU's class today

look there are about 1,000 fans on this site that will giggle and say everything you want to hear like we heard in 2002 when many on this board lathered up about a bogus list that had Dontas Raskascas as one of the Top 12 Centers in his recruiting Class. I believe my words were the "Top half of this class is pretty darn good" considering the situation-that is pretty high praise coming from me. I also said HoopScoop is a reputable recruiting source in their ratings of players which means their rankings of Dia and Harp especially lend credibility to this class. I'm about the 10th person on this board and many others on other boards who have questioned the methodology of their team rankings. Come back in 4 years and prove me wrong. I rarely am. This ain't a Top 25 Class. Top 25 Classes aren't filled with kids averaging 5.2, 8.4 and 7.8 ppg.

I'll actually agree with Stallion to some degree. John Roberson would have made this a true, universally recognized Top 25 class IMO. I differ slightly in that I don't think this class is all that far from being a top 25 class. But as always with recruiting, you have to look at this again in 4 years to judge the class

BTW what is going on with Joseph Katuka-I notice he is visiting Auburn this weekend according to Scout and has been offered by Florida St and St. Joseph. Now that would be another promising addition to the class. I saw Scout on 11/8 had a short list of the best players left in the Northeast they included Katuka and said SMU and St. Joseph were showing a lot of interest.

Just keep an eye on the Walker kid. He's my pick to click.
In an unrelated note, anyone see that Marcus 6-8 forward Clinton Houston signed with San Diego? He turned down Auburn (offered)-- that answers the quesiton about the other kid going there this weekend -- Vandy (offered) and Baylor (offered), power conference schools. He also turned down TCU (offered).

Can any of you with Hoop Scoop do an analysis of average player ranking by team? Hoop Scoop provides that number. Where do we rank nationally by average player ranking?

I was just about to post regarding him. He came on the same visit as Dia in October and hopefully hit it off with him a bit. He has offers from Auburn, St. Joe's, SMU and Florida St. He is listed as "High interest" 3 of the 4 offering schools with "No interest" in Florida St. He does in fact have a visit at Auburn this weekend and hopefully that doesn't go so well.

Also, neither Scout or Rivals shows William Eddie having committed to play for pops or anyone yet. Rivals shows him as a verbal to us. Scout shows him as interested in us and CMU with a higher interest in CMU. Anyone know if he signed with Dad or not?

A quick quick count
SMU had a 5.6 avg player rating (though that may be a typo). About 15 schools had 5.7 or higher.

Katuka is Nigerian born too-we may be fielding the Nigerian Olympic Team in 2010.
