We win at the buzzer, 57-55, Pearson tips it in. Dohery 1,000% winning percentage at SMU - give him a raise

It is now solved. Coach D just said he would have played for him at ND.....or NC.

Hated to see SMU let them back in it, but still a much better start than last season when I remember listening to the Ponies flounder against Lousiana-Monroe, probably the most frustrated I have ever been.

Anyone know what the rebounding margin was? I couldn't find it.

Nice way to get it started. I love the inside-out offensive approach. Beer is on Doherty. By the way, listening to Matt on the postgame interview is such a welcomed change to the drab Mike Dement who would have apologized for the win or Jimmy Tubbs...well, could anyone understand him?

36-32 according to GameTracker which can be very reliable or just the opposite.

I am very excited about the win, and having Matt Doherty, but why do you have to knock Dement and Jimmy?

Probably wasn't the best thing to post, and I should have bitten my tongue. But the point I was making was you want your leader to be a salesman before the season, during the season and after the season, on the radio and have an infectious personality. Our program desperately needs that. We didn't have that with Mike and Jimmy.

If you listened to him speak with Alan and Rich, you know what I mean.

Bottom line: Ws will sell better than anything else.

Big shout out to you for providing the link. Thanks

A few quick observations:
1. I like it when you make more FTs (18) than your opponent attempts (9). And we shot 72 percent from there. I'll take that every time. That's where we won this game.

2. Balance was good with 21, 11, 8, 7, 6. I still am just baffled with Ike I-Chart (I'll never be able to spell his name) with 21 points. But that's what a little coaching will do for you. I think Rich and Alan were shocked too.

3. Turnovers were too much with 22. But you expect that in the opener.

4. We didn't shoot well 40 percent. But they were bad too 35 percent.

5. And we outrebounded them, 36-32. The 36th rebound was the best one. :D

Now let's whip up on See ya later McNeese State. Remember, that's a 4 p.m. start.

...what stood out to me from the box score was the assist to turnover ratio (7/22) and 3-point shooting (1/10)...but, hey, those are aspects of the game we can improve on...bottom line is a win baby...good start for the Ponies!!!
