Does anyone know where Doh's wife is from? If she is from the south, we have a shot of keeping him here for awhile as Dallas will fit her, if she isn't we could be in some trouble.

I saw a list of the Top 15 players for 2008 in Texas on Rivals yesterday and SMU wasn't listed by one recruit.

Let me guess, A&M and Baylor have at least 3-4 in there?

I don't know where she's from, but I do know that he's interested in staying here for a while. He's got a son and a daughter, both elementary school age, who he's wanting to give some stability to. And his wife loves "Beaver Cleaver" University Park.

Kelly is from Concord, NC, and I know, for a fact, she really likes Dallas.

...and she's at every home game with the kids, too! Her daughter had a group of her friends with her at the Texas College game the other night, all holding signs and supporting the Mustangs! Fun time for all! :)

to the poster who inquired about who is getting the most attention from the 2008 Top 14. Sit down some may have another heart attack. Baylor is listed by 9 out of 14 players and 4 of the Top 5-the other guy has already committed to UCONN. Commence Baylor shots NOW!

also UT is getting looks from 10 out of 14, A&M is also getting looks at 10 out of 14 and Tech is pulling up the rear at 1 out of 14 kids.

That doesn't surprise me they way Drew has been recruiting. And Gillespie bringing A&M from the dead. Very frustrating though, for sure. Maybe we'll dive into the international pool and find some kids....it would be nice to be local for a few - but not the end all for bball recruiting.

Just remember of the class he got this year, where he pulled them, and who was offering. Dia had offers from Oklahoma and Louisville. And he got a Mansfield (I should say, he honored the Tubbs commitment) and Arlington Bowie kid, and another hot shot shooter from Abiliene.

Matt knows what he's doing. It will all unfold like it should, and it will take off when this team wins 18-20 games and goes to the postseason.

This team isn't going to any postseason with 18-20 wins. If you were alluding to the NIT, I also find that highly unlikely with the way we pack 'em in to Moody. I don't think Doherty's name alone would get us an invite from the NIT folks.

I agree, I tink we will need 22+ at least to be considered for the NIT because of our attendance issues and the fact that a gazillion teams are going to be in the 18-22 win range. Doherty definitely gives a bit of a leg up to a point and could be a deciding factor in some cases against schools near our size or smaller, but we will need 22 to even get considered because of all the big boys that will be in this win range.

I think that is doable though, 12-2 in non conference, 9-7 in conference, 1 CUSA tournament win = 22 wins....this is a conservative win total in my eyes , I could see us get to 24 wins which should lock it for us.

So even though it will take 22+ wins to do it, I think we have an excellent shot at that.

Someone needs to send a map with directions to Waco to the NCAA Compliance office.

Stallion - since Doherty is still relatively "new", should we expect to be listed yet on the lists of any of these 2008 recruits, or if we were would it be leftover from the Tubbs regime? Just curious on how long it realistically takes a new staff to get attention. I would guess beating TCU and OU would be a real eye-opener for some of these guys, but really don't know. Interested to hear your take...
