What this also says is that CUSA is not that bad a conference in basketball. Memphis is that good. Let's see if Ohio State is gassed after that blistering comeback they made against Tennessee. Memphis knows how to seal the deal when they get a league. They toy with you, show time it a bit, and then smoke you at the end. And yes 1.1 was the absolute correct call. The player hit the ball and it hit in bounds and arked high into the crowd. The ball is not dead until it strikes an object out of bounds. I watched it in real time and it took about a second for that ball to hit somebody. If that had been at Moody instead of a domed stadium it would have been .1, but instead it took awhile to get there to the crowd. The refs had a stop watch and timed it in real time. I think the call was correct to within .2 seconds. As to the foul, there were two fouls in a row against the Aggies, the only called the second one. The guy had a tip in and was hacked. Not a ticky tack foul Nacho. Your maroon is showing. And that win gave SMU $60,000.

Memphis shot 21 FTs

A&M shot 10

Yeah, that was a fairly called game. No one calls a ticky-tack foul with 3 seconds left unless they have a vested interest in the outcome.

Glad to see SMU got their ill-gotten gain. Maybe the can pay off some refs with it.

Called a nothing foul with 3 seconds left to give the game to memphis then inexplicably knocked of 1.1 seconds to make sure they won. Good for SMU though. I wouldn't bet against Memphis. When you have the refs in your back pocket (as in the SMU game also) it's pretty hard to lose. How many free throws did memphis shoot compared to A&M. A&M would have won by 20 if the game had been called fairly but hey that's sports. You can buy a win anytime you want it. Hope the refs like their new boats. BTW keep shorting the dollar.

Did we watch the same game? I guess CBS should hire you to their March Madness crew bc you are one of the few, other than the idiots calling the game, who think that taking 1.1 seconds off the clock was the wrong call. Also, I felt like A&M had a clear advantage with the refs through the first 25-30 minutes of the game. I don't blame the referees though, its only natural to skew calls towards the home team with the large crowd etc in their corner. I essentially feel like I disagree with everything you just stated.

On a personal note, I had picked A&M in my office bracket but as the game started I couldn't help but root for Memphis. I guess I want CUSA to do well and at the same time I was sort of excited about rooting for the "dog" since it was such an A&M crowd. Really some great, entertaining games last night.

Heaven forbid that we might think that A&M actually fouled more often than Memphis when we can so easily say the refs were unfair. I watched an A&M vs Baylor game recently and the Baylor players were getting absolutely mugged under the nets, but no fouls were called. What goes around comes around.

I love the typical aggy response "we didn't lose, the refs were against us." You don't get calls if your offense consists of shooting from the perimeter.

Take your loss like a man.

Your opinion as to the reffing wasn't a fact.

Unless you know something I don't know. In which case I can find the NCAA office number for ya.

It is a fact that they called a ticky-tack foul with 3 seconds left. When was the last time you saw a call like that on any level? Pathetic. Even WAC refs have more integrity.

That was not a ticky tack foul. I can understand refs letting them bump each other using their bodies so the outcome is not determined by the foul. However in this case, an arm or a hand hitting the shooter's arm or hand, is a foul and will be called the majority of the game.

The difference was Acie Law IV missing the layup with 49 ticks to go.

Nothing better on a sunny Friday afternoonn than some Nacho with a little w(h)ine. I am sorry your predictions looked so foolish due to those big bad refs. I guess the "home" crowd and other Aggie advantages you so eloquently stated were in place for a blow out were just another Aggie joke.

I'm sorry the Aggies hand brushed his chest after he shot the ball. He's probably in the ER now getting a CAT scan for the severe blow. Everyone in the wide world of sports knows that you don't call a foul in that situation.

I saw Memphis get away with murder against SMU. Maybe Calipari has some influendce with the refs. SMU was not allowed to win that game so that Memphis could maintain it's ranking. SMU took one for the conference--against their will.

Too bad Mark Cuban is not an Aggie. He would be going nuts about all those blantantly ridiculous calls against the Ags.

BTW A&M is a better school than SMU. Look it up in US News and World Report. You guys are jealous of that fine school. SMU will never get to the sweet 16 in any of your lifetimes.

Hey LB what's up with you homie? You know about as much about basketball as a 3 year old. You couldn't dunk on a 8 foot basket. Go back to the recliner.

Memphis was the more aggressive team. That's how games typically go. The more aggressive team gets to the line more, the team that is reacting to them commits more fouls.
