He's a MFYankee fan?
Love him as my coach, but he just slipped a few notches as a human being in my mind.

anybody else wondering if Vic Salvino would be willing to fund some scholarships so that some talented young men who want to get an education could attend SMU during a semester where they transfer into school? Of course, they may also happen to have some basketball talent.

That gets me wondering though, under the NCAA rules, when a player has to "pay his own way" for a semester before joining the team, is he allowed scholarships for academics or from other groups like the Rotary Club, or does he actually have to do it on his own?

On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

I think they are eligible for federal Pell grants if SMU doesn't offer a scholarship. But generally you can offer a full scholarship to transfers.

Yankee fan!! I'm liking coach even more. If you say your a sports fan and don't either love or hate the Yankees, your not a sports fan.
There's nothing better than seeing the Yanks beat the Red Sox in Boston.

Wonder if he was visiting anyone else in the neighborhood. He is, obviously, much more successful recruiting nationally than our previous coaches. Maybe some local kids will think about coming to the Hilltop next year if he has a successful year this year!

Sure there is — seeing them lose to anyone and everyone in baseball.

Coach is the perfect man for the job, not only does he recruit like a madman but hes also trying to get the students excited for the season. I hope its a good year, I have faith

In the opinions of certain narrow minded posters on this Board, Doh would be a failure for letting any top rated DISD recruit go anywhere else. Basketball requires national recruiting especially for a private school with high academic standards. I'm glad to see Doh getting those frequent flyer miles.

Wonder who that recruit was? May our season have people shaking heads in amazement also!

This is good stuff. If recruits are amazed at the facility before it is even finished, it is going to be well worth the effort.
