I am not a gambler at all when it comes to sports. My point was just to show how large of a dog we were in this game, and that I think it is hard for any team to win by more than 30 points, no matter how good they are.
I think Calipari called off the dogs even from the beginning when he didn't start Dorsey, benched Dozier and other starters played sparingly. It could have easily been a 40 pt. or more loss. A reserve guard, Andre Allen was their top scorer and they played 11 guys. I think the we were lucky to have the mercy of the Tiger's.

I would disagree that he called off the dogs "even from the beginning" Dorsey didn't start because of his lackluster performance against UTEP. Even though he didn't start he still contributed (10+ boards) and intimidated throughout. There is talk that he may not start going forward because of early fouls and the spark he can provide from the bench - doubt that happens long-term though. Dozier was benched and will be on the pines for some games for a little disciplinary problem. Taggert is replaceable with Dozier IMO. CDR had the flu, so that was why his minutes were down. Other than those guys, DR's minutes were down because Andre provided a spark early in the game and had a career game shooting. The thing is, Cal plays 10 guys every game - and all of them are contributors and even the reserves would probably start at SMU. I would take any of their second 5. Cal did empty his bench with 5 to go and them up 40 or so and we proceded to hit 3's on 2 or 3 consecutive possessions and then a couple of other buckets that made the loss a little more respectable. However, Memphis was not going easy on us for the 35 minutes before that.
