I'll use a stronger word -- unacceptable. They acted as if they forgot the mechanics on how to box out. There was one missed boxout with about 3:30 to play that really turned the game toward Tulane.

They better figure something out or else there will be NO postseason.

The guards looked out of it and Wills hasn't looked herself in a couple of games now. Nice game by Gates and congrats to Dodds on the records. Time to re-group and get it together.

Looks like the ladies play the winner of Memphis/Tulsa on Friday at noon.

Great. If it's Tulsa, that's all we need. There better be so much payback for them. But this is the game that determines if we have a postseason or not.

A mistake that shouldn't have affected the outcome, because we're a hell of a lot better than Tulane. We should have been able to spot them 10-15 points and rolled them anyway. It also shouldn't have been called, since it was Senior Day and the pre-game schedule for both teams got messed up.

Not true, actually. I know, because I'm in New Orleans for a conference and went to the game (I was late, but didn't miss anything because of the senior day crap). It actually wasn't "abysmal" post defense. Their big (Alandra/Elaina/Something Brown) hit a lot of tough shots, including a few when she got drilled. They weren't getting free walks to the hoop or anything. I thought Delesha Wills might have seriously hurt her a couple of times. Janelle Dodds had at least one blocked shot, and altered more.

Look, we lost a game we shouldn't have, but don't go blaming the post defense here - they weren't great, but they weren't that bad. We played poorly - we really didn't run the break like we did in the other games this year that I saw - and we ran into a team that was outrageously hot. Their little guard (I forget her name - #3) hit everything she threw up, and two or three of her 3s were absolute prayers - looked like she hardly knew where the hoop was. Those nights happen, just like games happen where a team can't buy a basket (we had stretches of that yesterday, too). I'm sure the players and coaches are furious. Hopefully they use that anger to wail on whoever we play in the tournament.

They didn't execute in the final 5 minutes. You're leading by 6 inside 4 minutes and immediately let them run off 7 in a row to take the lead for good.

They better get it together.
