I never said anything about cheating. You just don't turn schools in. Snitches get stitches in the world of big league college athletics. I'm sure Doh is above board at SMU “When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones
Beasley only wanted out b/c he thought Delonte Hill was going w/Huggy Bear, but he was retained. Hill is also the reason Beasley originally verballed to UNC Charlotte. Its also why KSU recruits one AAU flagship, and that's DC Assault “When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones
This just generated a coffee spray all over my desk. Just send 'da money.
Make an example out of him? I am curious. In what way would "making an example" out of the kid help our basketball program?
I'm with you Icon, why would we want someone to come who doesn't want to be here?
Have one last discussion to explore his reasons for a change of heart. If he truly does not want to be here, whether its fear, homesick whatever, why would you force him to come and waste a scholarship on someone who will never contribute and may in fact be a disruptive presence? If its fear of lack of playing time, that means he doesn't have a whole lot of confidence in his ability and probably shouldn't come anyway. My 2 cents. Hey don't knock the French. That Maginot Line held up the Germans for a few minutes... Here is something fun. Go to Yahoo and search for French Military Victories. One of the results is "Do you mean French Military Defeats"...
Just send 'da money.
How about the story of a frenchman's rifle being sold on eBay:
"never fired, only dropped once." ![]() Go Ponies!!
Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad
Speaking of the French...
During the first full briefing given by General Schwarzkopf after the Desert Storm ground assualt had started, I remember a French reporter asking about the order of battle and the disposition of French troops. I wish I could remember the exact quote, but I will try and paraphrase the first part. Pointing to the far left of the map he said, "They are protecting our far western flank." That part of the map was completely devoid of Iraqi units or cities and very distant from the most important objectives. There was a long, very awkward pause and then he went on to explain their objectives - an airfield which they successfully took along with 2,500 prisoners on the first day of operations. They also had to ground the French F1s for fear that they would be shot down by friendly fire. Fortunately, none of the 40 French aircraft engaged were lost. Here is that nice summary of French Military "Victories" -- Good stuff if you are a military history buff. http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/text/france.html "...going to war without France is like going deer hunting without an accordion. You just leave a lot of useless noisy baggage behind." -- Jed Babbin Former Deputy Undersecretary of Defense "Once the number 3, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

I know that happens when you type "French Military Victories" and hit the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button on Google. Classic.
