DMN: SMU denies BB recruit his release

We owe him nothing but his scholarship. They owe us an assurance that if we release him he is not going to a competitor. Until we get that I would not release him from anything, meeting or not.

Dad sounds like a raving loon who wants to control his son's future. Maybe he thinks Junior is NBA-bound, and therefore a big payday-in-waiting?

I doubt this guy gets out of his NLI, unless he just walks and loses a year. The NCAA created those things (NLIs) to prevent this very thing.
