The best time I ever had a conference tourney was during the WAC days in Vegas. Great basketball - obviously, great city too. El Paso definitely isn't a Vegas but I do like the idea of combining the two events.

Yes, those WAC tourneys in Vegas were awesome. There were some great games during some of those tourneys. I won't forget the game against UNLV when we beat those sorry SOBs in their own building back in 1999. I remember taking so much lame abuse from their fans and it brought me so much pleasure to see their hearts crushed. I seem to remember that being a pretty good team too with Shawn Marion on it. That was the year that we won and lost games by 1 point in the tourney. Also, it was the year that ladies won their tourney. Good times, indeed!

Vegas was the absolute best - even if that was the location of the Keith Van Horn tip.

Best location for a combined WAC Tourney = Dallas. Not sure why they haven't put in a bid yet.

Memphis is not all that bad - if we hactually had soemthing to cheer about, it would be a great location. Beale Street, BBQ, Ribs, Tunica, etc.

Much better than El Paso - unless you are the type that enjoys watching the shows in Juarez . . . and I have to say - I am not into that sort of "Entertainment".

Requirement #1 for hosting the tourney is that you at least fill the arena for your own games. Until that happens, nobody here is going to go to the effort of putting a bid together.
