And they wonder why they don't pack Moody.

I'm not going to be too happy if we play East Tennesse Western State, Paul Quinn, Millsaps, Northern New Mexico Community College, North Dakota Baptist etc again..

What about SMU versus:

Paul Quinn
Southern
Alabama State
Houston Baptist
SC Upstate
Prairie View A&M
Texas State
Stephen F Austin
McNeese State
LA Monroe
Centenary
North Carolina AT
Texas Pan Am
Brown
Long Island
Hardin-Simmons
Savannah State
Harvard

All have been non-conference opponents over the past 3 years

SMU should not be losing to any of those teams listed.

I really dont think that a weak OOC schedule helps us in the long run...I think if we could get some Big 12 and SEC opponents at Moody every year while the students are on campus (not during Christmas break) that it would really build up interest amongst students before the conference schedule starts. And I think, provided we play well, that a loss to Arkansas or Baylor does more to build the team's confidence than a win over Paul Quinn.

I really hope the schedule is improved this year.

No reason we shouldn't have a home away series with UT, A&M, Bay, TT, New Mex, Ark, OU, Ok.State, LSU annually. Another goal the next year or so should be to get into the preseaon NIT or Maui Tourney.

As I mentioned several times last year, recruits/players don't want to play the Paul Quinn's, South Carolina Upstates of the world.
Scheduling plays a big role in recruiting plus the fan will come out to see major college BB teams.

Also, either play ARK, Bay or TT or play before them or after them when they come to Dallas to play @ AA.

Finally, we should model our program after Gonzaga. Several years ago they started playing all the big boys. They tooks their bumps but look @ them now, a top 25 program year in & year out. I may be parital, but I think we have alot more to offer than Gonzaga.

coach needs to start showing some moxie and schedule some of the big boys, even medium boys. no more 'building confidence' excuses like we had to endure over the last two years. in fact, SMU lost to too many teams that we were suppose to build confidence with. Have to start playing top 25 team programs if you’re going to be ranked in the top 25. isn’t that coach’s goal?

It's usually not released until a month or two before the season starts.

I wish we would play ya'll in the AAC....we played Arkansas there last year and it turned out to be a great game with a great crowd (even though we lost)...
