I hope that's not true. Would be the most ridiculous contract clause ever! Should be based on performance, not whether Moody has suites that wouldn't be full anyways...

Well, guess we have Doh for 3 more years at least then. Yipee! . I will say when he came in, he generated some buzz and got the Crum center built and a new floor, and I give him props for that, too bad he couldn't sniff out a team in all those years though.

Doh was prolly the right guy to get the Crum center built but Im not sure he is the right guy to really coach this team and get us wins. Its time for some new blood.

Keep Doh as an assistant AD and fundraiser - he can be one of our "Wal-Mart" greeters. He is smart enough to know he's not going to get this turned around in time AND that he is really not that good of a coach - even though he wants to be. He'd be better in the blue seats dropping names of all his high-profile buds and showing off his ring. SMU needs to make a move soon. Like today.

that contract, if what BDE was told is accurate, was written at a time when it was thought Doh was on a par with BCG or whomever. All we knew was he was former coach of the year and lost control at Carolina after May broke his foot. Yeah there was the player's revolt, but that was probably explained away too. I wonder if after the first sideline tirade or the first game when we couldnt get out of the 40s w/ possessions that ran the shot clock down to 0 and had a poor or no shot, SO gave himself a wtf?

Doh cannot coach, we have nothing really great coming in the way of recruiting, and there is ZERO excitement around this joke of a program. if Steve O cannot see this, and doesn't make the change, I'm afraid I have to move on and pick a new team. We need a change, and like in football, we need a proven D1 coach that has turned around other programs...I give you, BCG. Please Steve, hire BCG.

As I said, the real indication to me that this program was moving in the right direction would have been a .500 conference and overall season. We fell short. Remember the losses to Northeastern, TCU and Texas State. Winning those games would have made us .500 overall. Losing to Southern Miss, UCF were likewise conference games that could have put us up closer to .500 in conference. This was not an acceptable step forward this season. I thought the idea of kicking Doh upstairs was not a bad one. Gives us the ability to get a better coach and allows Doh to save face and perhaps glad hand us to some good donations.

3 years left on the deal for sure. Almost 2 to buy him out, I'm told.

what exactly does this mean? Are you saying that as of right now, we couldn't even buyout his contract for full remaining value if we wanted to? He has an absolute right to stay on the job until year 6 and can only be bought out for year 7? Colossal F- up. Florida Freaking Atlantic.

Let us extend his contact to make certain.

It means some clause rolled them over and added an additional 2 years, also making the buyout clause steeper. He can be bought out, but we'd need to find roughly 2 years salary plus, not just one.

This knocks Orsini off the high pedestal I had him on. Someone in another topic mentioned Doh came in with Gillespie type comeback hype. That's an absolute joke. Gillespie has actually turned legit teams around. Bad time to be a basketball fan. Love me some football for sure, never thought my college days of Sasser, Willie, Q, Damon etc. would be the best basketball I'll see in the next 10+ years.
